During this 9 night, 10 day tour we discover the Left Bank, the Right Bank, Grave, Pessac-Léognan, Sauterne, as well as some not so famous wine growing regions in the Bordelais. We visit famous classified Châteaux and so-called Petits Châteaux, where excellent wines are produced; we will see how a barrique is made; we learn how oysters are raised in the Arcachon Bay; we put an emphasis on exquisite wine and food pairings with meals in gorgeous Châteaux, we learn about the “Place de Bordeaux; we discover the vibrant and cool city of Bordeaux with its countless wine bars. In short: this tour to the Bordeaux region takes in all aspects that you need to know to understand what “Bordeaux” really entails.

We will visit a total of 19 châteaux (15 are classified) in Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Entre-Deux-Mers, Sauternes, Graves, Pessac-Léognan, Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Margaux.
We will get intimate insights into the world of Bordeaux - the majority are Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux producers, but also excellent lesser known and unknown producers.
We will visit a 1ière Grand Cru Classé Châteaux.
We will explore the Bassin d’Arcachon off the Atlantic Ocean coast, visit an oyster farmer to learn what it entails to grow delicious oysters, and have an oyster tasting.
We will visit a top-notch, family-run cooperage to witness the fascinating art of making a barrique barrel from A to Z, so important to the quality of the wine.
We will visit a wine merchant to learn how the market for Bordeaux wines – La Place de Bordeaux- functions.
We will experience French hospitality and culinary art at the highest level.
We will have exquisite, Michelin-star equal gourmet wine pairing luncheons or dinners in an intimate setting at different Châteaux which we share with the proprietors / general managers and/or winemakers.
We will experience the vibrant, cool city of Bordeaux.
We only travel with a small group (max 10 persons) to experience very private behind the scene visits.

Night 1: Tuesday, Sept 03: Hôtel Hilton Garden Inn in Bordeaux, a brand new (opened in July 2018), modern, comfortable hotel with for French standards very spacious rooms overlooking the Garonne river and with a great fitness center in walking distance to the main train station of Bordeaux.
Nights 2 + 3: Wednesday, Sept 04 and Thursday, Sept 05: Au Logis des Remparts in Saint-Emilion, a very charming, well tended historic 3plus star, upscale boutique hotel in the heart of UNESCO world heritage wine town Saint-Emilion with a stunning garden, beautiful views on the vineyards and a gorgeous outdoor pool.
Nights 4 + 5: Friday, Sept 06 and Saturday, Sept 07: Grand Hôtel Français in Bordeaux, a refinded lodging in an 18th century mansion right in the center of old town Bordeaux, in walking distance to all interesting places with highly comfortable rooms. This hotel is part of the Best Western group.
Night 6: Sunday, Sept 08: Relais de Margaux in Margaux, a 4 star resort, spa, and golf hotel in a former late 19th century wine château, just in the back yard of famous Château Margaux.
Nights 7 + 8: Monday, Sept 09; Tuesday, Sept 10: Hotel Le Vignoble-France et Angleterre, Pauillac, a very well equipped, privately owned 3 star hotel in the heart of the Médoc region, right on the waterfront of the Gironde estuary.
