The restaurant in this former coach stop offers classical Burgundian cuisine and wines from the region at its best. Gonnot Didier is the Chef and Owner. We had a basic, but very fine lunch there before visiting Domaine Theulot­-Juillot, with Owner/ Winemaker Nathalie Juillot.

Trip Advisor: Le restaurant ne paye pas de mine, mais il vaut le détour. Il offre une cuisine régionale traditionnelle mais avec une touche d'originalité intéressante. Le patron et chef est très accueillant : il accueille ses clients d'une franche poignée de main et s'intéresse réellement à chacun d'entre eux, et tient à s'assurer pendant le repas que tout se passe bien. Bon, pas prétentieux et chaleureux. A essayer!

The communes of Mercurey is in the Côte Chalonnaise. The production of red wine dominates, with almost 80 per cent. There are 32 climats classified as Premier Cru vineyards, but no Grand Cru vineyards exist in this part of Burgundy. The vineyard area totals 650 hectares, of which 160 hectares are Premier Cru vineyards (146 red and 14 white)
